The 405 is rimmed so unless you go bigger on the rim, the bolt won't work. 98 bolts are somewhat easy to find though. I kinda wanted a 405 3 years ago when I bought dies cheap. I didn't want to mess with the feeding issues in a 98 or 03 Spgfd, didn't want a single shot and couldn't afford a double. An orig lever was all that was left.
I wouldn't buy a $2500 finely built rifle to use as a donor action.
