Pondering sale of my 700 Varmint .223, laminated, thumb-hole stock, Brux barrel, and Vortex variable ?-60 x 60. what would be reasonable to ask?

I looked over on sniper's hide forums (you have to pay to list there, but it is fairly active). Asking prices for aftermarket barrel customs with high end scopes seemed to hover at around $2K. HTH.

Yes indeed, old guns are tough to move on, BUT what about the reloading stuff that's been accumulating for over 60 years???

Exactly, look at my ad with several customs for sale. They are not moving. It’s very much like selling a classic car in that you never get out it what you paid.

Its knowing what Old guns sell and what doesnt, a good example in pre 64 Md 70s, old Winchesters and colts, Browning shot guns, and certain custom rifles like JP Sauer and sons Mausers and others..

On a good day, a semi custom rifle will sell for roughly 50% of what the owner has in it.
You are always better off removing the scope and selling it separately.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.
