a while ago Martin Blenk from Blaser stated in the now defunct "Blaser Forum" that they sell more Kipplauf (and combination) rifles in .30 R than in 7x65 R caliber. If this was just to promote the caliber I do not know, but still the .30 R seems to be quite popular.
The rimmed 6.5x68 R appears to go into extinction, to my knowledge not loaded anymore by RWS, and superseded by the newer 6.5x65 R. Also the 6.5x57 R may loose ground to the 6.5x65 R.
My choice also would be a 7x65 R.

I often collect whatever 7x65R spent brass I find from the range - can't stand to see all those expensive RWS cases going to be sold for scrap
For every 30 Blaser case I see, I find at least 10 7x65R cases. I'm pretty sure this wouldn't be far off on the popularity rates of both these cartridges around here.

DPhillipsDo any of you shoot 7mm rifles that the groove diameter is actually .287" like the .275 H&H Mag, the 280 Halger, or 280 Ross? If so, who makes bullets in that diameter, other than Woodleigh or Hawk?

AFAIK, a R 93 was destroyed when shooting a 300 Weatherby. The shooter was severly injured, because the bolt came back. DEVA is still evaluating what exactly happened. R 93 are supposed to hold up to 8000 bars of pressure. There were some (few dozends) with plastic rails, that were changed by Blaser for free, because they would open the bolt (and that one was coming back!) if the case was cracking during the shot. But I don`t want to hijack this thread and however I have to little information about that incident. It is one at 120,000 R 93 sold! However, you cant help that unlucky shooter with statistics!!! There were a lot of threads about that incident all over the forums. Just do a search...
