Hello Alex

Congratulation and thank you for sharing. I have wanted to hunt Muntjac and Chinese water deer but have not found any time to do it. Well one of these days I will plan a week in the English country side.

Regards
Aziz

Aziz Let us know when you are in town. There's always somewhere to go and play if required.

Alex,

What colour laminate is the stock on your rifle? I'm back to choosing colours for my 260 now thatthe ball is rolling

FB, it is the standard sako grey laminate i think, i picked it up cheap because someone was whinging on to gmk about a tiny scratch on it, opening up the barrel channel got rid of it and problem solved!
its not a bad stock really

Those are very cool. Is it difficult to find Muntjac and Chinese Water Deer?

it really depends on the area, never seen a CWD in the wild, muntjac however, some places they are all over the place and some you dont see a whisker.
they are tricky little buggers, they always seem to be moving.

some places will almost gaurentee muntjac to shoot, the two above i was just lucky.

Is it an 85 you have or the 75? If the 85 how did you find it in terms of accuracy and what calibre is it.

I have an 85 due at the end of this month so was just curious for that reason.

Many thanks

Jon2,

it is the 75, i havn't been tempted by the 85 yet.

i have got three 75's and they all shoot really well, the one pictured here is a 30.06 AI with a heavy fluted lothar walther barrel.
good luck with your 85, being a sako im sure it will shoot pretty sweet with abit of tweaking.

Cheers Alex

Yes I have 2 other 75's and both are on average just sub .5 moa rifles consistently.

I agree it is just a question of working up a suitable load. Incidentally what bullet weight are you shooting and what kind of velocities do you get with a 30-06 ackley?

jon2,

I'm afraid to say i have not got a chronograph yet so velocities I'm in the dark on,
bullets so far i have used 110 vmax, 125 nosler ballistic tips and 167gn scenars, all have shot really well, the scenars being the best of the bunch.
when i get a chronograph i will let you know
