I shot one by mistake during a drive hunt, a few years ago. Adult does were forbidden and I shot what I identified as a yearling buck with 2 short antlers. The case was investigated by the local shooting commission which decided I acted in good faith, so that I was not fined. I had heard of antlered does before but it was the 1st. time I ever saw one. This having been said, I'm not particularly interested in seeing another one... shame

3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact.
5 shots are a group.

One of my neighbours during a drive shot a perruque doe, which also grew canine teeth in the upper jaw.

I would have thought most antlered does would be Perruqe, as they wouldn't have the leveles of testosterone to harden the antler. Where does the antler grow from? Do they have a pedicle?

I shot an antlered doe in January 2001. It was 125yards away, I could not see antlers but I deliberately checked the backside to ensure that it wasn't a button buck.

When I walked up to it, the first thing I saw was the head with one little knob and one spike swept back low of about 2". Both were still in velvet but hard, they were growing from small pedicles. I was very angry as I hate shooting button bucks (hence my rule of only ever shooting does once the backside has been identified). Then the penny dropped. Great trophy!

I'll try and post a photo tomorrow.

I'm very intereste to see your pics 1894mk2, when you can please post it!
I'm also very interested to see how much these doe are common, i know that from a study in USA among whitetail doe about one on 4000 have antlers.
My esperience is only from 2 trophy I have bought on ebay from germay, one have only buttons, the second have a button and a small perruque-like antler.

My son, showing the antlered doe I shot last year. A sample of muscle was sent to an DNA laboratory and was found to be XX.
