Pig tusk filler
Can anyone recommend a "filler" to go in the hollow end of pig tusks?

Ask to a dental technician, I think that they can help you.

I've always simply used hot candle wax, sets in the cavity and lasts for years.

I have a number of sets to 9" that have been preserved this way for 30 years.

Deerdogs,

Any taxidermist can steer you to something they recomend. My taxidermist chipped one taking it out of the scull and he filled and repaired it. You couldn't tell where the chip had been.

Help me out here gents--is it necessary to fill them? I have several warthog tusks that I haven't filled with anything, and until now didn't know that maybe I'm supposed to. What happens if you don't?

If you want to use the tusk as a bottle opener, paper knife etc, the tusk will be more durable if the hollow end is filled. I had in mind some kind of resin...
