Claret_DabblerAR Hunt Muntjac Trophy
Guys, this is the little munty buck I shot at Livermere with Kiri's 308 and 165gr TSX's - use enough gun or what?
The taxidermist (David Irwin in NI) wasn't very happy with the outcome, I thought it was not bad. I specifically told him not to cover up the scars etc. Davy said he "looked like he has lost a knife fight.."
Never had anything set up before, but this little brute had so much character I couldn't resist. Thought the wife would flip, but she seems to like it.
Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

brass thiefBrian,
Davy done a bunch of work for me, and he's pretty good(and fussy!)
I still have some deer with him, they'll make their way over here eventually. Nice munty, better than mine!
Brian,
It looks a nice head, I have some in the freezer that need posting off to Davey.

Unforgetable HuntingNice trophy!
I always wanted to hunt this species. In Romania, this species is not present. It is someone able to recommend me an outfitter for this animal?
Thanks in advance!

Of course George!
We recommend our own outfitter, Athina Hunting Tours!
Pm Kiri or myself and we'll arrange something for you.
When would you like to hunt them?

GhubertIf I recall correctly, another man was seen wearing them the morning after we all got monumentally drunk.
Oh god........

ScotsGunI think its a cracker!
I have a space reserved on the dining room wall for a similar mount. I'm hoping it will be my final level 2 stalked buck in the next month or so.
Whats an approx fair price to pay for such a mount?
Marc
ScotsGun,
If its a Muntjac buck you are planning on shooting in the next month or so.....
It will still be in velvet.

I was envious when you shot it, and I still am!

Good looking buck, mate!

Fallow BuckAnders,
You need to get MR G and come back for some of the same. Talking to Amir yesterday at Holt he assured lots of people he could get them the horns they were after.

We are coming to that time of year again when we start planning this aren't we.

Kiri

ScotsGunNo DJM, it will probably be a Roe buck but it will be special due to the amount of work and effort put into getting this far and 3 successfull stalks.
If i were to get him on the next book stalk, that'll be my seventh outing! I'd literally trip over suitable animals from every direction but all would disapear as soon as an AW accompanied me. Last outing i found 5 does and not a single buck

ScotsGun,
Are you stalking on your own ground or on the AW's?
You can cover all of the elements for Stalk a Deer (Section 1)by stalking a doe in to a position where you have a safe shot, and get that signed up.
You can then cover the shoot a deer (Section 2) by ambushing a deer or shooting a deer from a highseat.
Sections 3 and 4 and be covered on any deer you do not even have to of shot them.
AW must be present thoughout all of the above.
If you want a chat about DSC2 drop me a PM.
That is #1 on my list when I get to hunt your side of the pond.

3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact.
5 shots are a group.

Of course we will! At least I will, and if Mr G won't I'll convince him...

One question.. How many beers had entered Amirs stomach when he said so?

Anders,
Just to keep you interested here is one I shot on Sunday........
Sorry it was in velvet!

AndersKeeping me interested in muntjacs is not a difficult task!

Great looking buck! Are they normally in velvet this time of the year?
Anders,
Yes it is normal for most of them to be in velvet just now.
They dont conform to the rules as much as other Deer. I have seen Mature bucks in hard antler when they should be in velvet, and in velvet in the middle of winter.
Most bucks cast around may and will be clean in August time.
