Re: Red dot.. or scope to .375HH
Thanks fellas..
Please gimme more experiences..y who have.
My main weapon in moosehunt is 3006.I have hunted 30 yrs,now Im 50 .
Im not actually affraid of recoil,Im 103kg guy,63".
The area where I hunt mostly is close Russian border, our east border, the terrain is bush and forest mostly, shooting distances are short, close range..so I use both opens and scope, depends..
375 is too heavy for moose,( I use 3006 and 45-70)but for bear I need a bushcannon like this ..anyway I will take the opens of it to be modified next winter..the edges will be covered with brass so they luminate a bit in low light.
I have inspected the Zeiss and some others..this Docter sounds interesting..I would prefer if I could dismantle it fast if needed..

Check your weapons,moosehunt starts soon...

Did you ever see the Docter Sight?

For me it is the smallest and fastes "open" sight you can imagine - comes in two types with 3,5" MOA for Rifles and 7" MOA for Handguns.

Docter

The batterie last "for ever" (mine carry the same batteries since I bought them - two years ago....)

Fits in your pocket, special mounts for almost every mounting system and rifle available, is rugged, and very fast in action

It is a lot cheaper than the other sights too

Elias,

I do a lot of wild boar hunting, specially montaria (driven hunts), and most of the time I use a 9.3x62 toped with a red dot.
The red dot I am using now on my Blaser is a Hit-point? but I have also used Aimpoint.
For shots at close range and up to 100 meters I find the red dot, with no magnification, to be the best solution.

Now and then I also use an express rifle. This one is toped with a Svarovski 1,25-4x24 (circle-dot) but I still find the red dot faster to aim.

Dear Franz!

That Docter sight sits on that gun ( or on any else I have seen it ), like a disaster waiting to happen.

I use a Swaro 1,25-4x with German 4 reticle on my driven Boar gun, a Win 70 in 06. ( German instead of Austrian because the thick parts reach much into the center, for up close its just fine! )

Its great! And if I am at my stand whereever that is, I adjust the magnification to the requirements of the place. Even only in Weinviertel in woods I use usually 1.75 to 2.5 magnification, but its fine to know in real tight places I am able to use 1.25, 32 m field of view at 100 m ( or, more important, > 3 Metres at 10 M distance! ).

O.k., for much over 100 m the reticle is too thick...

Have fun, Hermann
