RobinOLocksleyThe History of Safari on BBC
With Richard E Grant. Unfortunately, it's available for UK viewers only.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/e...ith_Richard_E_Grant/It is quite well made with some very good clips.

I watched it hoping for something a bit special given the title.
It was more about the few notorious individuals and the Mercedes Club than any thing else. Apart for the one bit where they took him out after Thompson Gazelle with an empty rifle and let him play at being the great white hunter.
The interview with the ex poacher come wildlife ranger was quite interesting.

BoghossianInteresting documentary which was quite balanced.
The wildebeest getting up after the first shot is exactly the sort of thing which happens when there is a camera present!!

TophandIt got up because he shot it to far back. He had worked himself up in to a bit of a lather before hand.

I managed to catch the repeat on monday evening.
I wouldn't have minded being in and around British East Africa in the first 3 decades of the last century. The 40's,50's and 60's didn't look to shabby either.
