A Few Piccies.
Given I am hosting a few AR mates in 3-4 weeks for some Fallow and Pheasant action I thought I would put up a few pics to show the start of the season.

We will be hunting together on the 26th & 27th Nov and i hope the weather is kind enough to allow me to film some of the hunting and post on here.

Anyway this is what I have so far:

Did Oscar Wilde wear realtree long-johns?

The mind boggles.

That picture is forever etched in my mind Smiler

About the big scarves Kiri and Dig is wearing, is it a kind of clan outfit?

Can we all promise not to mention the real tree long johns again?

I'm not sure I can afford the therapy...

As for the scarves, I'm not sure how they came about but Adam also turned up in South Africa with two, (one of which he donated to Achmir), and apart from the fact they keep my neck warm and that my wife refuses to allow it to be seen in the house, there's not a lot to tell.

Of course various theories are circulating southern English shoots but you can't believe everything you read in the press!!

Arild, BTW, we stopped at the pub and booked you a couple of extra pillows for Feb.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

'Tis true, 'tis true....

The soviet commisar propped up the London guntrade for a while I'll have you know!

And it also annoyed Dig out of all proportion.

If anything it was the Russian accent I felt obliged to adopt all day that nearly got me kicked off the shoot rather than the dress code faux pas....

They are the Musto Nubuck wellingtons. They are great boots and one of the few tht felt comfortable, but everyone that I know has problems with them cracking along the front over the toes. Mine split up the seams above the heel last week too.

However the good news is that Musto's customer service is excellent by all accounts and two or three friends that had the problem had their boots replaced even after a couple of years.

Kiri

Leather wellies are great, but I have yet to try a pair that last very long.

I have had good luck with tall Danner gore-tex boots and gaiters.

But you lose about 4 inches of wading power.
