Hobie6.5x52R Use in Europe - Actual Experiences
I would like to hear from our European friends who use the 6.5x52R. I knew that it is loaded lighter than the .25-35 here in the states, but the S&B is only getting 2032 fps from my 21" barrel.
What do you use it for? I've heard it is used in combination guns, are they popular? Is the load available Europe wide? Any other information?
Thanks.

<martin f>Hobie,
this cartridge has actually been obsolete in Europe for many years. But it was popular once, and there are quite some old guns around that are chambered for it, maybe that's why S&B makes it again.
In Germany, the cartridge will be legal for the small roe deer, but not for any larger game.
For roe deer and moderate distances, it's a nice cartridge.

HobieMartin,
Thank you for the reply. I think I was vaguely aware that no new guns were being manufactured for it (same as in the states). However, just as in the states, I was hoping there were a few eccentric fellows, like me

, who might still be using it.
I've had a couple of case necks split from the shoulder through to the mouth, otherwise the S&B ammo is pretty good. I won't be straining that brass though.
