Have you seen any K95 barrels chambered in 257 Weatherby?

I just read about an article from Craig Boddington where he whacked a Spanish chamois with one?

I just checked the newest catalog I have, and they do not list it, but.... It does not show a 264 Win Mag bbl for the R 93, and I have seen a few of them.

Ask Aleko at Heritage Arms. Blaser does not list the .257 Wby, but they do chamber the R93 for it. I don't know if they chamber or would be willing to chamber the K95 for the .257??

Yes they do. If you ask them they will make you one. I have a Blaser K95 luxus with two barrels . One in 30R and one in 257 wby msgnum,scoped with a Swarovski 4-16x50. Its a beutifull rifle . Fun for Roe bucks at 200-300 meters

If there is man, you need a four week stay.

Having said that, the one Blaser I could go for is the K95. Bloody gorgeous.

I have a K95, and four R93s. I had a S-2 but I sold it.

I want a D99, LRS2, a few more R93s, and a K95 Attache.

I think the Betty Ford Clinic has a Blaser wing, but I am sure it's more expensive that this addiction.

Speaking of the K95, does anybody know if the US version (straight stock, no cheek peice) has a palmswell?? And what about the bottom of the pistol grip, has that got a bit of a flare like the European version has, or is the pistol grip straight (and short) as is commonly seen on "classic" styled US rifles??

No palm swell - truly ambidextrous. Pistol grip is not exactly English with a tiniest bit of flare at base but very slight indeed. The grip is not straight into the stock but stands proud somewhat. I'll send you some photos.

When I purchased my K-95 the factory sent three Bavarian stocks and one American straight stock to the dealer for me to contemplate (life's all about choices?).

While I selected the Bavarian stock since to me it complemented the full-length forearm of the Stutzen better than the straight stock; I found the straight American stocked version very appealing and well designed. If I was to select a standard or magnum length barrel with standard forearm for the K-95 (this .257 Weatherby already has the wheels turning?) I would definately go that route.

That is interesting guys. I really like the looks of straight stocked rifles, but I have always thought some (most?) of these rifles leave a lot to be desired with respect to the pistol grip. Although certainly not as pretty, a Sako stock gives me a totally different feeling of control and fit with its palmswell. Likewise in the old K77 (I don't have a K95) stock, I really appreciate the palmswell and slight flare that has on the pistol grip - if one agrees with the otherwise Germanic looks.

But having looked at a K95 for quite a while, and in particular having seen the ultra pretty specimen of 1894's, I must admit the lines of the "classic" stock are very pleasing. Thus I was wondering whether that stock would include the best of both worlds... I guess I'll have to try a straight stocked K95.... I know I liked your "Stutzen" (full stocked, for non-German speakers) Gerry. How much weight does the octagonal barrel add to the rifle??

Weight? Blah, the K-95 in Stutzen is a fly-weight hunting rifle in my book, if the octagon barrel added any weight I sure didn't notice it and I'm getting more weight concious by the minute, especially around my waist.

I finally managed this URL thing and send you a picture of my Blaser K95 luxus in 257 wby.
With the Nosler PT 120 grains it clocks 1018 m/s
with 100 grains Hornady 1118 m/s. Shots whole in whole just fun.

I love Bavarian style stocks, but the straight stock on that looks like it came of an English shotgun. Must handle fantastically?

Thanx Yes I just love that little rifle. I suppose I have to go Austria next year to take a Gams oder zwei. The hatch with 257 wby mag is the lack of flange. But it does not matter at all.

I am thinking K95 Attache with a 300 Win, and 257 Weatherby, and 6.5x65R (you don't always want to deal with recoil).

I have barrels in 222, 243, and 30-06 for the other one.

On the top you see the rimless extractor on 257 wby. On the bottom the rimmed (Rand) extractor of the 30R blaser. The rimmed version is always the safest one. It always work. However the little pin exctractor that Blaser has on 257 wby works very well. No trouble so far.
