If anyone out there is interested here is a Blaser sideplate source who does fantastic work, either Blaser motives or custom, very good value for the $$$.
Great part about the sideplates is that they are simply engraved metal bits and can normally be shipped around the world without TOO much difficulty (depending on your local import/customs requirements).

DB Bill,
The stuff on her website does't even begin to coinside with with her everyday work - she's an ARTÃST.
Yes a pair, normal Blaser motive & stuff - Euro 700.00 a pair. Extra; read: custom wishes depending on what you want - much less than less 25% of Blaser dealer prices - you decide, please talk directly with her.
I'm choosey, cost concious, persnickerty and know what I want - she 2nd guesses me every tinme!
Cheers (I'm just the middle man, please talk directly to Alexandra, her English is great! Plus you always wonder where the female models for her engraving originated!)

Gerry

Gerry,
She is obviously a very talented engraver, and knows what she is doing.

But can you, or someone else, please explain to me the German tradtion of having naked women engraved on guns? I'm guessing it has something to do with the hunting goddess Diana, but some of the stuff I've seen on German guns seem a bit too much! Kind of like a Playboy version of a hunting gun!
On the otherhand, I guess it might be practical to have something nice to look at when away from the wife on a hunting trip.

Erik, no I cannot....have to disagree with you on this one; personally I've seen much more revealing & explicate engraving on Italian & Spanish guns. The Germans/Austrains tend to be sorta Wild Boar kinda guys.....
Jeff, Ja - agree.....
I prefer English scroll on my guns.

ErikDGerry,
So you mean the Italian & Spanish decorate their guns with naked women to remind themselves of their wives while hunting, while the Germans and Austians on the otherhand decorate their guns with wild boars to remind themselves of their wives?

I'm just kidding of course.
Seriously though, It's interesting to hear that the Spanish and Italian are more into the naked woman engraving than the Germans. I didn't know that.

blaser93How do you remove the side plates.
A torch and a lot of care. They are on there with commercial lock-tite.
Good luck if you have wood ones.
I want to get a upgraded set for my R93, No-one in this country is going to let you do it yourself!
