.30R Blaser => what kind of ammo do u use
Hey folks,
after a long time off the forum (had lost my pw and because i changed my e-mail, couldn´t retrieve ist. but after long time of seraching i have found my pw again, so now i´m back, yipeeh).
Because i had to rechamber my good old Drilling from 7*65R to .30R Blaser i like to know, waht kind of bullets you are using and how the results are? Had only one experience with the 180gr Hornady Interlock on a roe, but like to go to the Nolser PT with 180grs, like in my .30-06
The PT seems to be not that fragile if u hit a hard bone (reds and wild boars) and soft enough that the result on fallow and roes should be fine.

Thanks in advance and all the best from Berlin,
Konstantin

P.S. Because i´m a reloader i had not to go with fabric ammo

hi konst#1 - not much of a help but we had an Italian client here last year that used factory Blaser ammo with CDP bullet in mentioned caliber. He shot a roe buck and it was OK - by his words CDP works with no problems on reds and boars as well...I gues Nosler PT should do

Konst, although I do not shoot or load for the .30R Blaser, I'll pitch in with a suggestion for bullets to use. The .30R Blaser actually comes pretty close to .300 Win Mag velocities, so you need something that will hold together well - even on close-up shots. I have personally had good results with the Nosler AccuBond. It seems to combine the positive sides of bullets such as Partitions (penetration, structural integrity) and Ballistic Tips (accuracy and high ballistic coefficient). If you want your speed down a little, you might even consider the 200 grs. Otherwise the 180 grs would seem an obvious choice.

Konstantin,

Greetings to Berlin (I was stationed there for 5 years) nice to have you back onboard again.

Like mho above reiterated I don't personally own or shoot a 30R Blaser, so I guess I don't have a Dog in this Fight but I do know hunters who do. 100% of the hunters I know who use this cartridge own either a Blaser Combination Rifle, Drilling or K-95 and they eclusively use 180 grain Blaser CDP ammunition.

In the regard to what bullets would I prefer to initially try in the 30R Blaser if I was relaoding for it - agree 100% with Mike on the initial choice of either a 180 grain Nosler Partition or the newer 180 grain AccuBond.

Personally; I've had great success over the years with 165 & 180 grain Nosler Partitions and the 165 grain bullet remains my Go-To load for my .30/06 Sprg., so I tend to this bullet for that cartridge.

With the combination of the more powerful 30R Blaser cartridge and a couple of of extra inches on the barrel length in a Drilling equalling more muzzle velocity I would suggest the 180 grain Partition to start.

Cheers,
