AR boar hunt this year?
Gentlemen,

A few of us have been grumbling to each other about Boar shooting.

Stories of boar shot, boar missed and boar never even seen get told and re-told on a regular basis between the truly addicted and their infernal nattering has tormented and finally tempted me once again into the idea.

I mentioned to Boggy the possibility of another AR boar hunt and we were in the process of putting a post up when he.....well....the jammy git can make his own excuses as to why he with regret will not be able to come boar hunting this year........ tu2

I know a few folk on and off the forum that might be keen on a last minute trip for this year, probably around late November/early December and thought I might throw it to the membership to see if anyone is keen?

I've seen a few offers that are floating around at the moment ranging from expensive to cheap, 5-15 boar per weekend to 50-60 boar per weekend.

I'm of the mind that a reasonably priced hunt, without compromising quality, would suit most, myself included, in the current climate but am open to ideas.

Best,

Amir

Sorry Amir,
I'm not quite sure where I'll be living that end of the year but I'm fairly certain that I won't be getting a pass-out to go gallivanting around the continent boar-bashing.

I'll be pushing it to sneak off to Blackham for the day and scare a few pheasants with Quiddy and my 16B.

So I'll have to pass this up...

G'day mate!

Just curious...and very much interested, but don't think I will make it this year.

Where do you plan to hunt? and what kind of hunt is it? from a treestand by a feeder or driven hunt?

This sure looks like great fun (follow the link below) Smiler

Hello mate, Apologies for the vague post.

It would be driven boar, it would be a for no more than 3 days and not too expensive.

Claret Dabbler found an interesting offer from a Bulgarian outfitter ( Big Grin ) and i'm just asking the final few questions on it in correspondence with the guy before posting it here.

Perhaps then people can have a look at a specific example and compare it to the other options.

Boggy, can you get us a price on Croatia this year?

TP,

Most of the driven boar hunting is done before Xmas. I believe it has to do with the weather and he fact that the pigs get educated to being driven through the season. I'm sure some of the experienced boar guys here can correct me though.

I got some details on the Lithuanian driven hunts. Pricing was good but bag expectations were about 30% of the gun line plus deer (reds and Roe)

I'm waiting for them to come back to me with some other options, as I'm not sure of the merit f a 30% chance of sootinga pig each day.

Rgds,
K
