DomWild Boar - Hungary
Just got back from enjoying a hunt in Eastern Europe, Hungary. Stayed a week hunting the European Stag and Wild Boar. Very interesting country and beautiful forests, I was surprised at how rugged the area we were at was, very steep ravines! The Stags were scarce but they had a lot of wild boar. I used my standard, trusted weapon of choice, Blaser BockDrilling, which has large caliber 30-06, pushing 180 gr Swift A-frames with H4350, scoped with Swarovski 3-12x50 w/illuminated dot. I shot a yearling and two Keilers, or boars. Enjoyed the country, the food, and the hunting, Waidmannsheil, Dom.
The hunting area:
Photos actually don't do the steepness justice:

The larger Keiler I shot, dressed out somewhere around 275 pounds:

Waidmannsheil!
Congrats on the hunt - great look boar there. I hunter for boar in Austria about six years ago with my father-in-law (who is Austrian) and got a respectable trophy. There is nothing like hunting in the old world!

mhoI remember hunting a hilly area in Northern Hungary quite a few years ago. I loved that place - LOTS of game, in particular pigs. The specific area I went to also featured Mouflon sheep and Red Deer. Great hunting.
