Hello Gentlemen,
I have the opportunity to buy a Josef Winkler double rifle in 9.3x74R.
But apart from the fact that this is a gunmaker from Ferlach I know very little about this gunmaker and his guns.

Have any of you gentlemen any experience with this firm?

The gun is a side by side with ejectors, clawmounts, stock magazine and nice engravings and the price is OK.
The overall condition is very good as far as I can judge it, but I have not shoot the gun yet. Obviously I will test the gun further before I decide to buy it, but since this is maker that I have no prior experience of I'm interested in your opinion.

From my very limited knowledge there are two Winklers, Josef and Benedikt and both make superb rifles. Back in India I had pictures in some British collection of a recently made 500 NE 3" with a backlock action and it looked really beautiful.
