hi guys does anybody shoot a saur 202 with a harris bipod attatched somehow?if so whats the accuracy like?
the reason i ask this question is that i ordered a SAKO STAINLESS SYNTHETIC 300 WIN MAG AND WAS QUOTED 3 MONTHS DELIVERY IN UK,I GOT A PHONE CALL TODAY FROM MY DEALER AND HE SAID SOMEONE FROM GMK THE IMPORTERS THAT SAKO ARE NOT TAKING ORDERS FOR SPECIAL ORDER RIFLES EG STAINLESS 300S UNTIL JULY 2006 AT THE EARLIEST!!!!!!! AND IT MIGHT TAKE 10-12MONTHS TO GET MY RIFLE!!

Scirroco, just brought up a discussion from earlier this year on bipoding 202's. No easy answer.

Can't help on the 300mag.

Try looking on Guntrader.

I had the same message. I wanted to order a stainless syn sako alsobut i think 12 months is an optimistic estimate of delivery. I have been told atleast 18 months realistically.

It has atleast thrown a load of cold water over the idea as i didn't need the rifle and have in fact changed my mind now.

You might want to have a look on guntrader.co.uk as alot of guns are listed on site and a dealer may have one somewhere.

Shooting with stoney point sticks from a sitting position gives results that are almost as good as with a prone bipod. It's fast, quiet, puts you over low foliage and is Sauer fore end friendly!

Your binoculars stood on end provide a nice alternative rest for prone shots. The eye cups giving a cushioned base for accurate shooting - and best of all, you are carrying them anyhow!!

All in all - not the answer to your question - but perhaps it allows food for thought! Smiler

Keep well.

I seem to recall seeing various attachmenets for the Harris bipod that allows the fitment of this system to "other" non industry standard swivels.

I think that the Deben group showed them in their catalogue, but cannot be certain - hope this is of some use.

Whilst not ideal as it would involve drilling the stock, would it not be possible to fit a Harris type machine screw to the forend so that a bipod could be attached in the normal manner?

Just looked at Guntrader.

Minsterly Ranges have a few in stock, couple of Remington Sendero's and a Steyr.

I think Haggis at West Country Guns has a second hand one which has been modertaed and has had very little use.

My 7mmRemMag Sako in Stainless Synthetic took an age to come, nearly a year, and that was with knowing a rep well!
