coniferAnyone have Euros for sale...for US dollars??
Hi All:
I need Euros to use for European hunting web-site purchases. If anyone has any to sell, please holler.
Thanks.

roebuck222Conifer surely any decent US bank would exchange your green backs for euros

or is there some other problem?
A lot of websites I have looked at in continental europe quote prices in dollars and euros.

ForrestBThree options for you to consider:
1. Use a credit card and let the card company do the currency conversion (usually a very good rate).
2. Ask your bank to provide you with Euros. Even smaller banks will normally accomodate such a request, even if they can't do it immediately.
3. Go to a currency exchange. Usually the worst rate, but normally fast and convenient.

invader66US Post Office has International Money Orders. Good in most of Europe. ForrestB is right, credit card is always the best rate.
Or next time I go, give me a list and tour ATM card

coniferwait a second....wait a second .....
There is method to my madness. Credit cards are NOT do-able in this particular context. My purchases (fine old rifles) are from individuals in Europe. Sure I could use a Visa to wire money, but Western Union is incredibly parasitic; they want $70.00 to wire 700.0. Then, Visa adds their fee. I could buy Euros from a bank, for a small (about 15.00) fee compounded by "their" conversion rate. But...consider that there are folks out there with unspent Euros, returning from the continent.....and who might jump at the chance to swap for dollars at current rates. What's wrong with that?! Nothing at all. So, thanks all, for the advice ..... but if anyone wants to get rid of Euros...please holler at me.

invader66Local PO tells me that people in Europe can cash
them at their local post. If you are around a large post office they might be able to help. Sent one to the UK no problem. I do know one guy who buys from UK often. Keeps bank account just for that. Puts in money, mails ATM card with code. They take out money, he changes code.

ForrestBIf you're dealing with an individual, wire dollars or euros into their account in Europe. I definitely wouldn't mail cash overseas. A PO Money order or wire is the way to go - it leaves a papertrail just in case you have a problem.
There's no point in overly complicating the situation.
