enfieldsparesTELL (?) Telescopic Sight, Wetzlar. Any info on this maker?
I've picked up my 8x60S rifle and it is a real history of Europe! A Belgian made commercial Mauser 98 action with an Austrian "Boehler Eclair" steel barrel and a German Tell telescopic sight. Firing a cartridge that was "given birth" by the Versailles Treaty of 1919.
I'd like to post some pictures so any help would be appreciated but also know if Tell the maker's of the 'scope are still in business or who does repairs on these 'scopes. The focus ring is stuck fast tight! Fortunately at the right setting for me as I wear glasses and so have corrected perfect vision.
But I would still like to have it serviced by someone with the right spare parts if these ae needed.
I think Wetzlar was a trading name used by major German retailers (Frankonia, Kettner?). The scopes are rumored to have been manufactured by companies such as S&B or Hensoldt (the parent company of Zeiss). Sorry, can't help you with suggestions for service or repair.
