What happened to the sixth animal?

Regards

The 6th beast was shot on my last night and had unusual malformed antlers. The trophy had yet to be prepared by the time of my departure, but here's a pic taken a few minutes after the kill :-

By the way Tim1, you are less than 10 miles from me. Small world.

Ooh nifty, might just be the "best" of the lot, certainly the most interesting and unusual! Weidmannsheil!

Just returned from 3 of the best Roe Buck stalking days I have ever had in the Wiltshire/Dorset area. Shot 6 Bucks, five of which are shown below.

And here are the five trophies.

The biggest Buck weighed in at about 520gr and will be measured next week. I think it may be a Silver. Needs a little colour due to remnants of velvet, but I'm very happy with the overall quality. Hope you enjoy the photos

Steyr-Mannlicher .243, Schmidt & Bender 6x42 using home loaded ammunition with Speer 100gr boat tail soft points at about 2840 fps.

I wish it was free, but alas my circle of friends does not extend to owners of such fine Roe Buck territory. I am always looking for new friends though

Well done,
I was down in Wiltshire last weekend trying for some cull bucks, the ones we saw were all too good. The best was a big 4-5 year old, which had seven points.
Who is it you use for the stalking?

That's an interesting head.

I might be a bit closer to you before long. I'll be moving to Middlewich later this summer in an attempt to cut down on the expense and time involved with commuting into Manchester.

How are you getting on with your 7mm?

Best wishes
