IanFRe: Is a sound moderator a good tool for deer work?
Pete.
Bearing in mind that DA91 mandates no rifle of lesser calibre than .240inch or offering less than 1700 foot lbs energy as being suitable for Deer - I couldn't possibly comment on the accuracy of my chronograph!

griffThere is a draw back when using a moderator! "heat haze"
if you can see through your scope after 3 shots then you must have 6" mounts!!!

Dr. DucThe reason sound moderators are controlled in the US is just because they are so good for deer. During the depression of the 1930's, poachers used them extensively and the state game departments prevailed on the Feds to make them illegal. It wasn't for the armed robbery type crime it was "hunter crime"- Though lots of those ol' boys were just feeding their families.
