It's Been a while so here's some pics.
Hi all,

I've had a few people ask for some pics on PMs and have been a bit slow getting them posted as there never seems to be enough time in the day!!

Either way, as the game season is heading into it's last weekend I thought I'd put up a few highlights from this season. Our little syndicate has enjoyed it's best pheasant season by far and all the picture seem to show people with a glass in their hand so I think they all had fun!! We also managed to roll over a few fallow to keep the brinkman roasting haunches for lunches, as well as travel about a bit with friends and clients on various excursions.

I think yesterdays meagre bag of half a dozen head of half a dozen species was one of the best days though as my cousins 7 yo son was very excited at his first shooting trip in the UK, especially when his dad shot his first ever goose. I think Amir had to stop the boy diving into the lake to retrieve it himself!! Luckily Fern was on hand and made her firs retrieve of a Canada for me, (all of 5 yards!! )

Anyway here goes, and I'll let either Amir or Alice tell the story of the tricky recovery of Smallbores fallow doe.....

The Muzzle loaders still manage to bring down the pheasants!!

Wonderful photo's I like the second one the springer looks a lot like mine, wet and muddy. I have always wanted to do a traditional bird shoot like that. Someday I will make it happen.
Thanks

Who me?

No i'm merely an idle scribbler of errata, Smallbore's deer deserves the kind of justice that only those hors d'combat can provide.

Alas, being whores d' combat means that I am totally fooked when it comes to logging in to AR and writing stuff. I think you'll have to cut me some "slack" and see what emerges after dinner at Baldock+1 in a week or two

The Snow photo's were taken near Tonbridge in Kent. The amount of snow has been unusual this year. The second night photo and the frost photo are from different places in Norfolk.

OK, I'll come clean!

I shot the doe and it ran off!

I called the boys to say I'd lost it as I ran after it and couldn't find it anywhere despite lots of blood on the ground.

Out came the boys and the dog and we all got ready to go after it, Dave was just about to lose the dog when he said 'Is this yours?'. He was standing on it, not 15 yards from where I shot it, it had fallen in the ditch and I had run right over it! Duh!

To make up for it I shot another one a few days ago - the 'muntjac' that Fallow Buck referred to in another post was a fallow buck fawn. This one fell where it stood but turned out to be smaller than I thought. I'll get the hang of this deer shooting one day.
