Re: RWS Ammunition
In Europe I said we are RWS's prisonner. RWS provides any calibres and often is the only provider : 5.6x50, 5.6x57,6.5x57,6.5x68. RWS or reload.
Their ammo are outstanding and most of the time the most expensive.
Whenever I can choose, I opt for American calibres so as to get the vastest choice.
Saaed could be cruel about Hirtenberger. I shot 3 boars with ABC (banana-split) Hirtenberger 7x64. Each time they were spotlessly shot but didn't fall on the spot and worse without their letting any bloodtrail. Never use it since and ever.

Is hirtenberger still in business?, I have found their ammunition to be very innovative too.

No. They are not. Their small arms ammuition section folded; the brand name has been bought by RUAG, and ammunition with the "Hirtenberger" name will continue to exist, but it will be coming from the Swiss and Swedish factories. The last military Hirtenberger contracts already came out of Thun - I was standing before the case drawing and bottom stamping machines, actually.

Thanks to Mrlexma for the very welcome correction - I have edited my posting accordingly.
