RWS or Horneber Brass for 6.5x68?
They seem about only choices available for 6.5x68, wondering if someone has preference for one over the other, and reason for the preference?
..thanks.

1894mk2I've never used Horneber but I've heard from another on this forum that it's soft (think it was Ray Atkinson)
I've not used brass in this calibre in RWS but in a lot of others and it is IMHO the best of all. Individualy packaged, ready chamfered, built like a tank (panzer brass I call it) I think you could use it as jewellry.
The only issue I've ever had with it was thin necks in 9.3x62 which wouldn't hold bullets under recoil and that sometimes other makes shell holders are a bit tight.

Double that + 6,5x68 is RWS's kid so...don't know about Horneber, but can't go wrong with RWS.

KechuttiMy vote for RWS, it is stronger than Horneber,IMHO; I use it for 6.5x68 and the Horneber for my 6x62 Fréres.

Steve MalinverniIn te past there were also Hirtenberger Ammo, but I don't know if they still produce for the civillian market. Brass were beteer even of RWS
Thanks for replies.
Yes,I was of understanding RWS, especially 8x68s, was indeed strong brass.
But on another forum, someone said that:
"...8x68s brass was not designed for moden pressures of 60,000psi...."
If RWS is tougher than Horneber, then RWS 6.5x68 is my natural choice.
