Not something I've heard of - though if interested in euro style clothing, have a look at this package from Finland.
http://www.arcticoutdoor.co.uk Check the Jahti Jakt pages, the introductory offer is incredible value for money and the clothing does what it promises. Pity the model has the top buttoned up to his chin - doesn't do the look of the jacket any justice!

lolol - ok - its the same stuff - but through US importer.
Excellent quality - have recommended to my friends and VERY happy with the quality and features of my suit.
Go for it - I'm sure you will not be disappointed! With your background, I reckon you will recognise the quality immediately.

Claret_DabblerIan, I noticed the Finnish gear advertised. I wondered if it would do the job for my upcoming eastern european pig bashing trip?
Looks like you recommend it.

D99Price can't be beat. $240-260 for the whole schmere!

Mickey1It is awfully noisy for stand hunting but would be fine for drive hunts.

D99Finland I think? The company is from Finland. It's probably outsourced to Hong Kong like everything else.
That's why Cabelas, North Face and Patagonia are so much cheaper than Laksen.

IanFDisagree with the comments about noise from these suits.
The membrane on mine is bonded to the outer fabric - without doubt the quietest breathable suit I have played with.

Claret_DabblerI got my suit about a week ago. Seems great. Fits well and is cetainly pretty warm.
I agree with Ian, it does not seem noisy to me, certainly quieter than my musto, which cost twice what the entire suit cost. The fleece jacket is great, you would happily pay £50-£60 for that alone.
I not tried it out on a wet day yet, maybe over the next week I will.
Only negative comment, I could live without the loud yellow and white logo which seems to feature everywhere.

So you are in Catania huh. Great place isn't it. I spent some time there many years ago when I was in the Navy.
Make absolutely sure that you get up to Northern Italy to Val Trompia and go for a tour of all of the Shotgum makers. Italy has probably the three best shotgun makers in the entire world, and many more who aren't far behind.

nightwalker ukOn erverybodies good feedback about this gear, thought I would give it a try.
Excellant quality, price design etc, but unfortunately the leather look attatchments were not to my liking, so sent them back (it was the bits on the shoulders and back that I couldn,t live with)- Reminded me of the old donkey jackets!!
Got full refund and can say that I wish I was 100% happy with the product, because it seemed a real good deal!!

Claret_DabblerNightwalker, I agree with you 100% on the leatherette trim. I could really live without it.
However, anything similiar I have seen in terms of a suit was over twice the price. That being the case, I decided I could live with the fake leather.
I also looked at one of the Deerhunter suits, but I just can't bring myself to wear that bloody awful Yank cammo.

Wanker!
Most of us have to wear orange, so orange and cammo is ridiculous. I usually wear green and orange, or green and jeans.
"bloody awful Yank cammo" GRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Now now D99, don't be rude to me. If I had feelings, you might be able to hurt them.
I was recently talking to a guy who deos a lot of on-line retailing. Apparently one of his biggest sellers is realtree socks! What's that all about? With a bright orange vest?

TonyCHJahti Jakt products are very popular in Finland (obviously). There must be thousands of them around among our 300.000 hunters. But, they are probably the most controversial huntingwear products in Finland of present times. There must be at least as many people disappointed with them as there are those who are really fanatic about them.
This has a base on the fact that the 1st generation of the hunting suit were marketed as the best of the best but the fact was that the marketing hype didn't meet the reality - the suit was a failure. They promised superior breathability and water proofing but the brathing part failed totally (= water proofing doesnt work either as the suit gets wet from the inside). This is part that people is still not convinced, many say the water proofing / breathing membrane doesnt work properly in the present generation either. Haven't heard many such complaints with Gore-tex suits.
I have no personal experience with the product but the package of addtional stuff they include seems like a good deal. I personally don't like their marketing practices in Finland (superhyper promises, less in reality) and therefore will probably not buy their stuff but many have. In every thread about their suits in Finnish forums you get hundreds of posts both defending and equally bashing the suits and the discussions all end up in chaos so no definite answer on the quality ever seem emerge
PS. consensus is that the suits are quiet.
So, here was just some "inside" info from the Jahti jakt -land, sorry if I mixed up the soup ;-)

D99Thanks for you insight on this, I had always wondered how they were thought of in Finland.

D99I just got my suit from the shipper. I like the looks of it, though the leather is a little odd. I am not sure what it is made of, but they should have used cordura or moleskin instead.
I really like the way it looks, and like all that you get for $250 shipped.
I am looking forward to getting it into the mountains this fall.
It is in the washer right now to remove the shipping plastic smell. Hopefully it will stay together.

D99I also ordered Laksen CTX pants, parka, and a windstopper fleece jacket. I have $300 in all the Laksen stuff, as it was overstock from
www.sierratradingpost.comIf you haven't used them before I recommend you give them a look. They often have Barbour, Laksen, and Le Chameau at cheaper prices.
