CaracalPoland hunting trip
Hello,
2weeks ago I went to Poland to hunt with some polish friends near the ukrainian boarder in a wonderful huge mountainous area (34000hectars=85000acres). The area has lots of red deer, pigs and roedeer.
I did a 2day driven hunt and 3days individual hunting. On the driven hunt I was able to shot a calf and a small stag and on the individual hunt I shot a big stag, a calf and a pig.

I forgot my camera so unfortunatly only a bad picture with my cellphone. The stag had 6,7kg. I will post a picture of the skull when its finshed.
Cheers

19 December 2011, 00:47

MOA TACTICALHe is nice!
I want one of those 10 kg Berleberg monsters!

CaracalHello,
this area has stags up to 9kg. There are other area in poland where you can get a >10kg stag in the rut. In my opinion a hunt for a big stag is the rut is one of the best hunts in europe.
My polish friend is outfitter and knows all the good area of poland and eastern europe, let me know when you are ready to go

Cheers
Dennis

CaracalThank you guys.
I'd like to organise a hunt there with a group of ARmembers for next year. This area (and the boardering areas, too) are so wonderful for a nature loving hunter.

Artemis1Well done Caracal.
It is nice trophy.
I think that they have plenty of deer there but not enough boar.

Yes that's true. They have a exceptional number of red deer but not many boar in that area (maybe because of the wolf). But the quality on the boars is actually quite nice.

Artemis1Yes, that is the problem why most of my clients in Croatia are ex Polish clients. They didn't get the number of boar and the species they have there are smaller than ours in Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria.
However, the hunt you had looks great and if you like it just stick with it even though sometimes is nice to try other destinations. I do the same despite shooting so many animals in Croatia every year.

340fanHi Caracal,
Poland hunting sounds interesting. I am interested in Roe Deer hunting. Do you know what is available there for a regular hunt without going for top trophies ? Is it feasable for an American who has never hunted Europe to do the hunt alone and does not know the language ? Or would it be better to join a group such as yours ?
Thanks, Harold

CaracalHello Harold,
that's possible, of course. One of my friends is outfitter in poland. I can organise some hunting for roe deer, if you want. As a foreigner you will always have a guide to help you choose the right animal. You can go alone or join a group. Maybe we can do a group of AR members for a roe hunt this year?
Best Regards
Dennis

340fanDennis,
Yes, please pursue some hunt info from your friend in Poland. And yes, putting together a group from AR would be fun. Will you be at SCI in Las Vegas ?
Thanks,
Harold
