New Boots - Meindl or Hanwag
I need new boots - was just going to order a new pair of Meindl Dovre, but a few people have mentioned Hanwags as an alternative. The other option is Meindl Glockner.

I know the Meindls are excellent - whats the story on Hanwag?

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

I'm going to chuck Lundhag 'Scout' into the pot! Well worth a look - and more flexible when it comes to temperature variation.

CB, I have both (lucky boy!)

I would say that if you are not doing alot of difficult walking the dovre extremes get hot and uncomfortable - but they are excellant for general use.

I have the hanwag mountain lite? They are fantastic for my feet - very light and good support!

I find that the high leg boots tend to give me shin splints if I am doing alot of walking on steep ground whereas the lower height boots don't, just need a good set of gaiters with them.

Hope this helps??

Lundhags are great should one ever need to use skies or snowshoes or other things like them.

Then there are the Graninge kängan.

And Jörn kängan

Sold through a Norweigian store.

All these boots are made in Sweden, for Swedish needs, they might not be suitable for all conditions however I think they are all great.

I used a pair of Jörnkängan for more than 7 years before they passed on...
