BoghossianFace veil for stalking
Who uses one? Do you notice a difference?
I have one for bowhunting but haven't pulled it out when stalking before. Wondering whether it is worth the bother...

Andre MertensIt works all right (same as gloves to hide white skin) but both are a pain in the neck to wear in the present hot weather. I'll admit to wear both of them, discomfort notwithstanding, when pass shooting wood pigeons.

Fallow BuckI'm with Andre,
It makes a huge difference for Pigeon shooting, so I always have a light mesh one in my kit bag.
For stalking I wear the light sun veils that are designed for flats fly fishermen. I was kindly given one last year and since also bought the polartec one wit the fleece neck warmer attached.
I bought the latter in black beacuse it can be folded in such a way that it only leaves a slit for your eyes, so while sitting in a tree or stalking i can pretend to myself that I'm some kind of home counties ninja!!!
Small things and all of that....

But in a word, yes I find it makes a massive difference for Fallow, as do gloves.

PatagonHunterHello,
I have a Belgian friend, now almost retired, one of the best Red Deer Hunter I know, who "roar" better than a Red Deer male, indeed! Useing only a cattle horn made by himself. And his own great voice! He always use a face veil, made of soft and light chamois leather, and brown gloves. I learned many things about Red Deer hunting from him.
Regards,
PH
I wear one of these
Buff's, I have one in an olive green with a light tan paisley pattern on it which I can pull up just below my eyes. (I wear a hat, of course) Its a lot more comfy and better made than most of the purpose made veils i've come across, and if I encounter the public I can just pull it down around my neck where it makes me look like a bit of a mincer, rather than a psychopathic loony, which is the usual effect of camo.

Husqvarna M98I to use a veil,
I feel "naked" other wise and yes I get spotted more often by the game,
by the way, I used a new ASAT leaf camo thing the other day, even had ravens that did not spot me using it,
decent piece of kit.
Best regards Chris
