londonhunterHow to display Boar tusk ?
Hi anybody got photos of novel ways of displaying boar tusk for a trophy room ?
I have seen the usual wooden board display
I am really looking for something different
Has anybody got any ideas or seen something different ?
Thanks

AkshooterYou can use the whole skull like this. I assume you mean by wooden board display it's like the tusk at the top of the photo.
This skull is missing some teeth but I have them around the house somewhere. It will look much better once I get them back in.
Once the skull is done you can pull the tusk out to display the whole length.

BoghossianMake a nice necklace for the better half?
Hanging from your rearview mirror?
Sitting on your desk for visitors to marvel at.
I know, I know, I'm a classy guy.
I'm not sure this is "different", but here are a couple of examples on how boar tusks (German: "Keilerwaffen") are displayed on the Continent:
KeilerwaffenWhether you choose one shield or the other, with or without "leaves", depends on your personal taste. Typically, the more ornamental styles are popular in Austria from what I have seen.

3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact.
5 shots are a group.

Looks as if the mail address is
heini_pfaff@web.de.
The address and phone number are on the website (green area at the top). Try to call him and see if he speaks English - a lot of Germans do. International calling code for Germany is "49" - leave out the prefixed 0 in the area code: +49 6629 6979, or +49 171 95 16 888 (mobile).

I haven't tried just the snout but I think I will the next decent one I shoot, like this Warthog:
Some normal Euro type, like most here have:
-------- There are those who only reload so they can shoot, and then there are those who only shoot so they can reload. I belong to the first group. Dom ---------
Hey Dom, I don't know if the Euro mount pictures you posted are yours, but I very much like the idea of putting a picture on the piggie on the shield!! Let's you see both pic and tusks...

Yes Mike, a few of the one's I've saved that were either special or interesting hunts. As you all know, there isn't much of a trophy on a Frischling. However, this little Uberlaufer dressed out at 95 kilo

so he got his mug on the plaque, even if the waffen weren't nothin' special, I'll always remember that night!
