Re: Not big game, but opening day and a first!
They are pretty much "fair game" here. We don't really hunt them, per se, but sometimes they come in when varmint calling, otherwise they are just "seen" sometimes. They are quite distructive, farmers don't much like them because they tear up fields badly with their digging. We occasionally shoot them. The pelts are of some value to trappers. My grandson just shot one last week. It was his first animal more than a rabbit. I am having a rug made for him out of it, with head, like a bearskin rug.

Also, in the USA, badgers live in burrows, or holes.

Damn Martin!

You're keeping yourself busy!

Congrats by the way. Those badgers dont exactly come running into the living room, you need to put some effort into it. Good show!

Myself, I'm putting my bets on Monday. I inspected a new hunting ground up between Bors and Ulricehamn (Nitta/Hkerum) yesterday where I will spend my Monday.

Lot's of buck traces so it looks promising

The gypsies here ask for badger in fall, they think that a good badger roast protects them against flue.
