Fallow BuckAn All Round Weekend
Hi all,
Further to the other thread I thought I'd test the water to see who would be interested in a weekend of driven bird shooting and some fallow stalking.
A few of you have already been down to me so you know the layout, but we would basically go out on Friday evening and saturday mng for the Deer. It would all be high seat work and we'd try to tie it in with the rut. On the right weekend we can have a hell of a head of deer on the ground, bbut as with all things wild you can't get any guarentees.
After Saturday mng stalking we would get some baon sarnies lined up for breakfast or a full english at the pub and then go out for the game shooting part of it. This would be something in the region of 85-100 head of game (assuminng something no worse than a 5:1 shot ratio) mainly pheasants with a few duck at the end of the day. Even though I would not stop the day unless we are way ahead of the expected bag. We'd then go back for a hot dinner of some roasted fallow or pheasants and red wine!!
Basically the whole thing would be about £350 plus a tip for the keeper, and no trophy fees on the fallow or limit on numbers shot. Over all, I try and do it so that the stalking is virtualy free in the package as a way of getting my cull done, and having some fun while at it.
I can arrange permits for rifles and shotguns for overseas visitors, and we would need 10 people to make up the weekend.

Fallow BuckArild,
I'm thinking that we would probablybe looking at the early days in November. That way the Fallow Does are in season and you guys can shoot whatever walks out around the shoot.
Claret Dabler, Husq, Amir, Ian etc were over for the first Nov 08 and we saw a good numbers of deer the day/night before when it was dry and the does were out of season. Then it rained on the first and we missed an opportunity. The result is that I would like to do it when we can shoot does too as I like to take a lump out of their numbers when given the chance.
The game shooting should be good fun for anyone that is not aquainted with English driven shooting.

Arild IversenSounds good Kiri, guess you can count me in then

I´m a lousy shotgunner if there ever was one, but this might be fun.
At least I can buy me self a set of Tweed and a flat cap and stroll around with a little flask handy

Fallow BuckI'll speak to Bog, and find out when the Boar shoot is and see if we can tie it in. Form a game shooting perspective it wuld probably suit me better that way, and the deer are available all through the winter so there is no problem there.

solviIt would be great to have the two hunts together, one after the other, so I can use the flight to England for both.
It would save my 300₤
