Now that Wild Boar are getting established again in Britain, Natural England are issuing advice:
http://www.westerndailypress.c...67-detail/story.htmlThey've been gone for several hundred years and so we have no oral or countryside traditions relating to them, just a few pub signs.

GerryDave,
Hope you've been keeping well, long time since we've seen each other.
Wow! Some all encompassing information from the Western Daily Press ..... if you don't have a Dog to put on their lead you may be safe .....
..... would beg to differ though; Wild Boar have not been gone in the UK; simply an endangered spieces - Sus Scrofa Geordie; the few that have begun this proliferation I think originated at the Quayside in Newcastle upon Tyne. Observed some during nighttime forays; and yes, they've got bristles, not hair, many are tatooed w/piercings, also.

Trapper DaveHi Gerry,
Its been a while but old times still remembered with affection!
Yes I did wonder about the dog on the lead suggestion as it sounded like a sure way to reduce the mobility of both the dog and its owner!
I think more Dog owners should be trained to train their dogs to walking to heel & voice and hand signals. Too many strain at leads and think they're in charge.
Geordies? yes a breed apart definitely and apart from the tattoos and piercings, I think I'm evolving into one
