I use 270 WIN for hunting red stag and wild boar.
I use 156 gn gameheads from SAKO. I have had two mis firerings (meaning only a click and resulting in a dent in the primer) from catridges from one box.

Does anyone have same experiences?

Welcome to the forum.

I have shot the Sako gameheads in my 243 for about 5-6 years now and I have never had a problem with them like you mention. I have probably shot about 300 rounds in that time.

Have you reported the problem to Sako? It sounds like a faulty batch that should probably be brought to their attention. Also incidentally (and I'm sure this is an unnecessary comment) but don't forget to leave the rifle pointing in a safe direction with the bolt closed after the click in case it is a hang fire rather than a misfire. A couple of minutes should do it to be on the safe side.

Is several minutes the minimal time lapse to wait? I heard before, a minute should do. It is pretty frustrating with a nice opportunity in front of you....

Persoanally I would give it a couple of minutes. It seems like an eternity but safetey first as always.

I had a couple of misfires on a range a few years back with a semi auto and some military ammo. When i reached for the cocking lever on the first one the then range officer let such a tirade loose on me that I kinda thought better of it the next time!!

As for the wasted opportunity I had a comedy moment with Amir a few weeks back on what ended up being the most stupid fox in Sussex, (east and west). I'll let him tell it though...

Robby, if your determined to open up the breech quickly after the dead man's click, turn the rifle so that the ejector cutaway is facing the ground & operate the bolt with your thumb out of the equation, in the event of the round initiating while you are unloading the debris will not head for your face. First rate advice. In a hunting situation getting another round into the breech as quick as you can if often the preferred solution.

The only problem I experienced with Sako ammunition when I tried it was a lack of expansion.

What I actually did the second time is recocking (I use a Mauser M03, so I didn't have to open the breech) the firing pin and fire again, result is shot went out nicely.....
With the other bullet I tried on the firing range if it also would fire after a second try and that one fired also.

Robby, have you considered a firing pin issue?, or does it just happen with one brand?

this is the first time in 2 years and only with this brand. I do a lot of reloading aswell and it has never happened. I shoot also a 300 WM and 243 WIN with this gun (interchangeble barrels but the same firing pin) and it never happened.

So I presume it has been e very bad batch.

Bad stuff can come from any of the makers, I had some Lapua .223 one time, unloading live rounds left the bullets in the lead, & powder all in the magazine spaces.

Now there's a novelty.

I used more than 600 rounds of Sako in 30-06,300WM and 8x57JS without any problems.
It is one of the most consistent ammo on the market.
