European Hunting Rifles
Guys I need some information for some research I am doing.

What are the 3 most popular brands of large game hunting rifles in Europe.

In Spain most of what I have seen has been Blaser, CZ, Remington.

In Germany most of what I saw was Steyr, Blaser, Sauer.

The rest?

In Belgium, I think Blaser, Steyr, FN (Browning/Winchester/...)

It varies a lot depending where in Europe you go. E.g. Scandinavia will likely have different favourites from Central Europe, the UK or Eastern Europe, say.

In "Germanic" Europe (i.e. Germany, Switzerland, and Austria), I'm guessing the list would include Blaser, Sauer and Steyr.

3. Mauser - M98's.

I would think it's

1.Remington
2.Steyr
3.CZ

Winchester,Browning and Sako/Tikka could be the closest.

As for the rest of the world and the United States.

I would say it probably changes every 10 years, but the M700, M77, and Savage 110 are probably the most popular in the US with the M70, MKV, A-Bolt, CZ 550, and some kind of custom Mauser rounding out the rest of the herd.

I go through M700 phases, then M70 phases, Blaser phases, and looks like this will be a Sauer phase.

As for Finland I´d say: Tikka, Sako and Remington...I think third place fluctuates a bit.

Blaser R93 is very popular, as well as rifles built on the 98-actions.

I believe, here in Norway;

Mauser M98-type (Husquarna, Mauser, CG)
Sako/Tikka.
Sauer 202

Depends on fashion

1) Blaser, declining
2) Mauser derived, CZ for budgetwise hunters
3) Steyr who was the rage 10-20 years ago

Actual trend :
Argo Benelli
Heym SR21
Merkel KR1
Sauer 202 and 203

Doubles :

Chapuis (René) 90%
Blaser
Heym
