Sending a rifle to the US - problems?

On of my friends lives in Oregon. He asked me to find a drilling in 12 gauge and 7x57R or 65R.
Drillings with 12 gauge are very rare, the older drillings mostly have 16 gauge the new 20. Now I found a Simson Drilling with claw mounts for a really good price. I asked the custom, they told me exporting isn't the problem, but there are a lot of problems to import a rifle to the US.
Do you have informations about my problem?

This is from gunbroker.com, it explains the details of importing a firearm into the US. The US side is pretty straightforward, but make sure you also get the German export issues sorted before you ship...

There are a great many items that cannot be imported into the US. These include 'armor piercing' ammo, high-capacity magazines, and so-called 'assault weapons'. Please contact your FFL to make import arrangements and verify the legality of the item you are attempting to import before placing a bid on an item.

If the item is not a firearm (such as scopes, holsters, etc.) then the item can be sent into the US without any special importation procedure other than filling out a standard US Customs form.
