dogcatHow would you compare hunting in Spain vs. Africa?
I am looking at taking my wife on another trip. How would you compare the experience of hunting/touring Spain to the same in Zim/Tanz or Nambia?
I would be hunting, she would be an observer.
Second question- assume the same scenario as above except I am taking my sons who like to hunt hard.
Thanks,

GO once and you will spend your time either planning your next trip or figureing out how to afford another trip

dogcatWe have been to Africa twice and loved every minute of it. I was just looking for something that may be a different yet great experience.

AfrikaanderSpain has its own fauna and its own many ways of hunting it, which might be of your pleasure
if you consider it as something of its own ... but I wouldn´t compare it to an african experience ..... in fact I wouldn´t compare africa with any other place !

I lived and hunted in Spain for 2 years. Spain's wild goats (not a true Ibex), Chamois, aoudad, red stags, fallow bucks, roe deer, mouflon, and wild boar are great.
I went to Africa in 2005 to Namibia and had a good hunt with a bad outfitter.
That could happen in Spain too.
For the price of a wild boar in Spain you could do a lot of hunting in Namibia. For the price of an Ibex you could kill one of almost every plainsgame species in Namibia.
If you don't speak Spanish your hunting experience in Namibia will not be diminished. In Spain it might.

dogcatDan,
That is what I am trying to sort out, but it appears that hunting in Spain is about like Botswana with the trophy fees and daily rates.
Oh well... The good ol' law of supply and demand at work.

billrquimbyComparing Spain to Botswana is like the proverbial apples and oranges. I love Africa, too, but the only hunting trip my wife accompanied me was to Spain. We toured Toledo and shopped in Madrid and walked through the Alhambra. I shot a Spanish stag and a boar. We both had a great time.
