Re: Are there big game hunts in Russia?
I recently bought the newest edition of "Big Game Adventures", and it`s a big article on hunting in Russia, and the "sorrounding" countries (Tadjikistan, Kazaksthan, Turkmenistan, China, Mongolia etc.).
Looks great!

There is fantastic hunting in Russia and there is a very enthusiastic hunting community. Even during the cold war days, hunters used to come from Wesern Europe for bear, pig, several types of antelope and deer, moose etc. There is also bird hunting and you just might get to see some superb high end Russian hunting guns - double rifles, bolt guns, single shots etc

Do go if you get an opportunity - the people are also among the friendliest I have ever met.

mehulkamdar, I totally agree with you about the immense hunting opportunities available in the former Sovjet Union. But I don't quite know what to do with the above statement?? Maybe it is just my total lack of knowledge shining through here, but is the combination of "Russia" with "high end hunting guns" not a contradiction in terms?? Or was your whole post tongue in cheek (in which case, I profusely apologize)??
