Full stock rifle suggestion
I am going to purchase a full stock rifle this year. It has been on the card ever since I shot one a few months ago.

Has anybody got any experience on which brand. I am aware of the blaser independent suspension system so apart from that is there any other maker that is comparable. I have too many Blasers already.

Obviously the CZ is very good value, has anybody succefully rebarrel one before I am think of a 6mmBR in a full stock rifle or a 6 x 47 lapua that should be a nice stalking rifle for European game.

What I really meant is that do they have a floating barrel system like the blaser?

In secondhand you get the odd BSA and other makes on guntrader.co.uk. Let someone else take the 50% loss as you walk out the gunshop door!

A few years ago, I had a Steyr Mannlicher Luxus Stützen in 7x64. I bought it because I loved the looks of a full stocked rifle. I ended up selling it because of its ever wandering zero. I still own a full stocked Anschütz 1418 .22 LR, where I had to completely free the bbl. (with detached forend) before it kept its zero.

3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact.
5 shots are a group.

Been there - and had fun nailing down the issues. The end result was a shooter - but a hideous mismatch between a short barrel and a 22/250.

Enough noise to generate complaints of sonic boom three counties away, allied to a muzzle flame that could toast a rabbit at seventy yards! Ok, there may be some exaggeration there - but not much! Smiler

Don't bother unless you go for a suspended barrel system - the potential for self-harm is just too high!

And how would you fit a noise suppressor on a rifle of that type? The only full stocked rifle worth bothering with? The SMLE!

The best advice I can offer is dont buy one!

I have found the Accuracy of them to be very weather dependent.

The first thing the British Army did to Accurise the SMLE was cut away the full stock.

The Danish Schultz & Larsen produce full stock rifles as well, even though it’s not published at their site Roll Eyes

Thanks Bjarne

That Voere is pretty ugly.

If you want a Stutzen, it is for the look and elegance of the thing.

Not sure about the mechanics of the Sauer forend / barrel hanging, but this has to be the best looking Stutzen out there:

Anyone who would contemplate putting a moderator on such a rifle should be birched!! Wink

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

Brian I agree, the Voere is really ugly, but
nevertheless a very special one (semi-straight pull)

The Sauer is not to beat!
