monteroRenault on tv
Renault, the French car manufacturer, and an important shareholder in Nissan, has recently launched a new advertising campaign in Spanish tv.
Such campaign is an outrage against hunters who are treated like assasins and compared to terrorists in an unjustifiable and utterly despising manner.
It is around 1.3 million hunters in Spain, and I only hope that we can, altogether with our friends and families, and all stakeholders in hunting as an industry, make Renault (and Nissan) pay hard for it.
A little international help would not do us any harm, so if anyone is willing to give a hand here, Renault's client servicing email address in Spain: contacto-cliente.esp@renault.es
The Renault manager responsible for this campaign is: arturo.salvan@renault.es

Fallow BuckHi Montero,
What exactly does the advert say/portray?
FB
28 February 2005, 21:05
monteroIt shows three "hunters" about to shoot a fawn with semi automatic shotguns. The fawn has one of its legs caught by the steel teeth of a bear trap.
These "hunters" are attacked by some "heroes" who kick them in their backs and release and save the fawn.
Then they run away and are chased by a gang of terrorist looking "hunters" that fire semi auto assault guns at the "heroes"...

ErikDI sent a message to both contacto-cliente.esp@renault.es and arturo.salvan@renault.es .
Stuff like this really disgusts me, and you'd think the minds behind such a campaign came staight from the old Sovjet Unions propoganda machine, designed to brainwash the uneducated into disliking hunters and hunting...

These idiots at Renault-Nissan have started to promote quite actively their trash to us through big, expensive ads in the specialized media. They do seem to like our money!
I just send them my comments, too. Morons!
To Renault-Nissan Ibérica:
"Damas y caballeros,
Atentos saludos,

My offering to him:-
Until today I was seriously considering replacing my Subaru with a Renault 4WD. Having been alerted by a Spanish friend to your appalling advertisement portraying hunters as mindless murderers I will no longer consider a Renault car. You should know that hunters do not take kindly to being portrayed so misleadingly and are a considerable minority across Europe, capable of communicating across international boundaries.
This is all the more sad as you are one of the very few manufacturers who offer reasonably priced diesel 4WD cars.

Hoooray, they have blinked!
It seems that the new director of marketing of the firm is Thierry Plantegenest. I'd be surprised if his mail adress wasn't thierry.plantegenest@renault.es.
Keep shooting!

<JOHAN>Gentlemen
Mr Plantegenest email address is not working

Renault been blinking twice?
Cheers

Sorry, I just found out, too.
I did a search in teh net but it seems that they are quite secretive. Not even "marketing@renault.es/fr did work...
Maybe someone here with better connections can give us a friendly hint for the email blitz?

And this is the reply I received yesterday !!
"Estimado Sr. Maccario:
17 March 2005, 12:11
ErikDWildboar,
Can you translate that into English?

wildboarI will try, but not 100% since I'm Italian - Lorenzo
"Dear Sir, we received your email, dated 02 march. We reply that our avertising is somewhat different from what you affirm. If one see the advertising, then it's clear that it doesn't describe hunters the way that you assert.
We didn't intend to cause offence to hunters at all.
Regards"

monteroDear all,
Here is a link to a Spanish newspaper that published the news that Renault's denigratory adverising campaign has been finally deleted due to the movilization of the Spanish hunters.
http://www.elmundo.es/elmundo/2005/04/12/comunicacion/1113308190.htmlBetter late than never, but the harm is done.
Best regards and my thanks to all that contributed.

Victoria! Head quarters in France had to intervene to teach those idiots a lesson. Very career damaging, I guess... France is traditionally a very hunter-friendly country so I'd not be surprised if the circulars had gone our to all daughter companies to avoid similar PR desasters in other places.
A good benchmark, too, for future issues.

jbderunzIn the past, Peugeot in France produced an advert making fun of hunters.
The advert showed boars escaping the hunters in jumping en masse in a 406 estate wagon.
We, hunters, protested in vain.
Anyhow, I stick to Peugeot ……………….and Toyota.
The Renault advert was not broadcasted in France, perhaps because of the Peugeot incident?

NsiroWell here we go again !!
After the advertising campaign had to be retired in Spain, they have now started to broadcast it in Portugal. Last night I saw the add twice in a row.
We will have to start a campaign here to, I just don’t know if the message from the French Renault headquarters reached Renault Portugal. But I will ask !
Cheers,

jbderunzNsiro,
I mean they would not have dared in France.
Renault France head quarter is now informed along with appropriate commentars.
I am waiting for their answer.

NsiroThank you jbderunz, for the time you took to inform Renault France.
I already made my point with Renault- Portugal.
I’m also waiting for their answer.
I’ll keep you informed.

Please post us some email adresses here, the more we write, the deeper the impact!
If someone could post the mail adresses of the HQ, even better!
28 April 2005, 21:39
monteroplease give us some e-mail addresses to which the Spanish huning comminity can contact.
they never broadcasted such an ifamous campaign in France, but theu did in Spain. maybe the bastards believe Spaniards are second class citizens.

the overwhelming movilization from different hunting associations and individuals made them quit.
and now they transfer the insult to our Portuguese friends, whom they also believe to be 2nd class citizens as well.

NsiroMontero,
Thank you for your support, unfortunately Renault Portugal does not has a public e-mail address, you will have to go to Renault.pt choose "contactos" and then fill a form to send them a message.
It would be good if someone could post the e-mail of the Renault France Headquarters.

b.martinsToday I have sent an email to
FACE, including a link to this thread, requesting that they take whatever the steps they feel fitted to put pressure upon Renault in order to stop these campaigns once and for all!
As they pretend to represent all the European hunting community I believe they should be the ones in a better position to deal with this outrageous affair!
