johnnyrebPositano, Italy questions
I will be there for two weeks in August/September, and was wondering if there are any gun stores in that area that might be worth a visit? Or for that matter, any skeet ranges? Just curious...

Andre Mertens35 years ago,I spent my honeymoon in Positano, near Amalfi. I don't remember seeing a single gunshop. Sure that's a while ago but firearms acceptance hasn't betttered since...

Steve MalinverniWhen you will be there ask to the Concierge. They usually know, more or less, everything or the can take info.
I am sorry, but it is too far from Milan

wildboarJohnnyreb, I have been in the USA several times and I've visited many gun stores over there, so, I really doubt that you could find any interesting gun store in Italy, excepted maybe, a handful of them, mainly located in the very big towns. Furthemore, that area of Italy is not among my favourites and I would advise you to be careful over there, since, while the coast is very nice, pitoresque and fairly safe, the inland is a sort of "Far West", where law and justice are often unknown; it is the same with the most part of Naples and his hinterland.

Dr. LouI regulalry visit Italy and I just spent a couple weeks along the Amalfi coast, which includes Positano. I didn't see anything that closely resembled a gun or sporting good store; it's one of the first things I look for. Infact, I don't recall ever seeing a gun store in Italy. I am sure they exist, I just didn't find any. Yes, be careful around the Naples (Napoli) area. There's alot of crime in that area. Even the taxi drivers will warn you. Lou

wildboarIn Piano di Sorrento, 12 km west from Positano, there is a gun shop, "Armeria Tizzani"; It's likely a small one. Here are 2 links to the italian phone book website, with the list of gun shops situated in the area surrounding Positano:
