Heym SR20That sling of yours - is it a shooting sling as well as just a carry sling and given the barrel band attachement does it make it shoot to a different point of aim if used as a shooting sling.

scubaproSorry - I was a Long time not here on AR...
That sling is just drawn short for easier carrying the rifle in your Hands or while you are on the highseat...

Cat PowerLondon,
Very nice looking rifle. I have a K95 myself and like the rifle very much. I would sure like to have those lowered rings on my rifle.

C-P,
Easy .... simply doesn't get any easier.
Measure, Eye-Ball it, however you'd like to have it set up. I usually measure the distance between the objective bell and the area on the barrel above where it is located. One watch-out though; make sure the amount you're gonna take off the base of the rings will still clear the turret housing on the scope (note: london hunter's) and the forward slope/angle of the scope's objective housing, too.
Remove the scope from the Saddle Mount and flip the base of the Saddle Mount over. The bases of the two rings are attached to the Saddle Mount with 2 T20 Torx screws. Unscrew them and remove the bottom half of the ring(s).
Now you've got 2 bottom ring halves that have a hole already drilled through the center of the rings and a 2mm nipple to keep them in place under recoil on the flat Saddle Mount. My Gunsmith made a brass jíg in @ 10 minutes that fits (screwed) into the screwhole and sits flush with the top half of the rings.
He slips the entire jig/bottom ring onto his lathe and trims them the desired amount. Yes, the 2mm nipple has to be copied to keep the rings from slipping on the Saddle Mount but that's a Piece-of-Cake for any accomplished Gunsmith.
Violá!
I've done it to all my Saddle Mounts that use rings (vice the several I've got w/rails) and that's 9 sets; between the K95 & the R93 - sorta Custom Mounts for each Barrel/Scope. I like to keep my head low on the stock.

The closed case also contains an ammo wallet & sling, plus the Barrel, Receiver & Scope.
I call it my "Pimp Gun" because like london hunter with his Violin Case, mine appears to be nothing more than a Pool Cue.

Cheers,
Number 10
