john.d.mGold Medal.
I just got some great news from a client/friend of mine, he`s just got the tusks measured from a boar he took with me here in the U.K, it`s the first gold medal wild boar recognised here in the U.K.
I am over the moon

[img=http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/1894/wayne3iy3.th.jpg]Gold medal - CIC wise?? Or do you have a local medal system in the UK??
Certainly looks like a nice piggie! You should post a picture of the tusks - assuming they have been removed from the skull, unless they formed the basis for a headmount?

P.S. CIC gold would mean 120+ points.
Just in case anybody is interested in CIC measurements and medal categories, the relevant PDFs can be downloaded from this URL:

john.d.mI think it`s CIC scoring, will check when I speak to him next.
I don`t think, well I`ve not heard of a seperate U.K scoring system, as "officially" we haven`t got boar here!!!
He was a very nice piggie MHO, was 365lbs with the guts out in the field.
I will post a pic of the tusks as soon as I get to see them ,he is going to have them mounted on a shield, didn`t want a shoulder mount.

john.d.mD99, I take people out after the Boar, am sorry but just can`t take anymore bookings for at least 6 mnths, every full moon `till Dec 07 is spoken for and got a list as long as my arm with others who want to have a go.
It is a bit of a rarity here in the U.K and I`m lucky enough to have patches with them on.
Had to cancel this mnths as ground was just too dry and hard I have been out just looking and watching, and they aren`t showing in this dry weather.

I think that it must be CIC, there is no other method for scoring boar in Europe as far as I know.
A boar from Dorset last year was the first ever CIC medal from the UK scoring 111.6 CIC points which is just a bronze.
John, I wonder what that big 500lber would go if he's got ivory to match his weight?
John
I am sure you are very happy with the news. Do you know what they measured? ie the length in cm's?
Many thanks
