I am considering the Police SSG in .243 and 22/250.

I know they`re not the prettiest rifle in the world but more of a work tool.

Does anyone have any experiences(good or bad)involving this model

Tim, I have had quite a bit of experience with the SSG. All of them in 308. My favorite and the best shooters semed to be the original green stocked rifles. The black stock bull barreled rifles shot very good also. The scope mounts are excellent and always returned to zero. Their weakest links are the plastic magazine and the plastic trigger guard/magazine housing. The SSG always shot very good.

I have an SSG PII and it shoots like a dream, even with relatively inexpensive .308 ammo. With Federal Gold Medal it's a tack driver. The five round magazines have worked well for me, but the ten round mags don't feed as smoothly and are quite expensive.

Great rifle.
