reddy375Stalking in Scotland
Hi I wonder if anyone can recommend some good inexpensive places to stalk red deer in Scotland? I have hunted there years ago and would love to do it again.
I would be interested in taking atleast a couple of stags, along with a crack at Roe deer. Is that also a good place for Sika deer?
Many Thanks
A

MARK H. YOUNGGuys,
I'm booked with Mike McCrave for Sept. '06. The estate has lots of red deer, good sika and some roe but evidently the roe are not too good as far as trophy quality goes. I think he is by far not cheap but I'm looking for the traditional all inclusive estate hunt experience that includes everything and that's what Mike provides.

Kamo GariI'm not interested personally in the 'estate' experience thing. I have family in Scotland, and may stay with them, but as they don't hunt, aren't really any help. I'm simply hoping to find some stalking opps, and at the end of the day it's off to a dark pub, and after that a dry place to sleep. I need nothing much more.
I just want to hunt; all assorted niceties and traditional bells and whistles mean bugger all to this lad. If I want any part of Scottish tradition, I'll talk tae ma Wee Muther.

AK HunterI hunted a few years ago with Ken Aldridge of A&C Sporting Services (booked through Rusty Reed of Alaska Hunting Consultants). His hunts take place on the Isle of Islay off Scotland's west coast. Took red stag and roe deer. I highly recommend the hunt.

I agree with your comments and would say Ken is one of the best in the business.
He has a 3 year waiting list for red stags.
