Inquisitive Sika
Was stalking Sika on Saturday evening past. As usual when I go out it was raining stair-rods.

Anyway, I shot a Sika pricket in the last few minutes of light, from a bunch of four or five. I was doing the gralloch by the Landrover head lights when I looked up to see a Sika (doe I assume) standing twenty feet away watching proceedings. I stood up, pulled the camera out and took a photo. The deer actually walked towards me to investigate the flash. I took this photo at about 1 metre. These are totally wild deer on an open mountain side.

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

CD,

That's amazing. It must be something to do with your Irish deer!!! I was in Wicklow last Xmas at my wifes aunt and uncles. Xmas eve and they said to me would you like to go see the deer? I assumed they would be up on the hill. I wandered out the back and there were 4 sika hinds on the other side of the fence eating away... They must have been all of about 5 feet away. A fab sight indeed.

I bet they aren't as inquisitive when you are out with a rifle!!

According to PETA she is full of sorrow and grief for loosing her friend.
She probably try to communicate with you in some strange way, telling what kind of a inhuman person you are, completely lacking any sense of feeling and empathy Big Grin

By the way...good pix and congratulations with the pricket thumb
