nightwalker ukWhich rimfire scope make??
Might be purchasing a little anschutz 1417 rimfire, and was wondering what make scope I should go for?
My last one on a rimfire (selling my old CZ with the scope and moderator - moderator is now a permanent fixture due to I cannot screw it off!!

) was a nikko sterling 3-9x40.
Would like to stick with the power but after a quick browse on makes it seems that lots more companies are now making scopes AGS, Simmons etc.
Oh yes I don't really want to spend over £60 either!
Whats your opinions guys and gals....

Steffeni had a bushnell sportsman 4x32 on my last rimfire, and if i ever buy a rimfire again it will be topped with the same scope.
(they also makes a 3-9x)

IanF http://www.mtcoptics.co.uk/Cobra_main.htmFor a rimfire, the mildot reticle gives loads of holdover points. Allows you to really get the most out of the rifle.

Good quality glass at a budget price. Comes complete with mounts AND flip up covers!
Mind you - looking at the rest of their range may not be a mistake.

Jeff SullivanI have a Blaser R-93 Professional with a 22 lr rimfire barrel, and I have just put a Leupold VX II 3-9x33 EFR scope on it and love it.

meteI just put a Leupold 2-7x28 on my 22 though I haven't used it much .So far it's fine.

Fallow BuckRichard,
I tend to think that on a 22LR as long as I can see the reticle then it will do the job as required, especially if it is for use with a lamp.
However I do find the IR to be a reall bonus when lamping and great fun with a running bunny!!

D99I have a Remington M504 (the nicest 22 Remington ever made, so the bastards quit making it), and it has a Burris 3-9 Fullfield 2 on it.
I like it very much, if the rifle is a sporter and not a target rifle I would recommend something similar. Of course if it is a target rifle then more power is waranted.

Claret_DabblerI have a meopta 6x42 on my 22mag.
Cost £90 on ebay years ago.
Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

nightwalker ukAt the moment I am liking the look of Ians suggestion of the MTC 3-9x42.
Is it just me or have there been a massive increase in "low" end scopes or have I just been engrossed in the "high" end stuff!

Husqvarna M98NW- there is an aboundance of low priced scopes coming out, there are a lot of them looking very much alike,
however some have had proper QC and others not.
Myself I shoot with an old Bushnell 6-18 dot reticle and AO, I am not very good with my Anschütz, standing I will only hit a soda can 4 out of 5 times at 100 yards.
Good pratice though.
Btw a 3-9 is a great selection but still I would go higher if I needed to shoot at smallish targets or at long range.
Best regards Chris

Gerry MerryMy personal choice would be a BSA sweet 22 or Sweet 17 depending on which calibre you use. Elevation turrets are ballistically matched to the calibre and bullet weight, different add on turrets for different bullet weights. Used one and they are superb for the price,

DomJust to give you another option and how it looks, here's a LEUPOLD Vari X III 4.5-14x50mm, solid mounts on an Anschutz 1516 (.22 Mag). I had it on a hornet but upgraded the glass on that so this scope ended up here, and the one that was on ended up on the .22 long rifle, and after that I can't remember what I did!
But it exceeds the 60 pound imposed limit

Arild IversenMine is a Leupold fixed 6x42. Nothing sophisticated but work like a dream.
Sits on top of a Ruger M77/22 in original Ruger rings.

JAYBI have a CZ 452 and on that I have a Tasco Target/Varmint 6-24X42. It is a mil dot and makes head shots on rabbits with Eley subs out to 100 yards possible. It has been on there for about four or five years I think and has never lost zero. I don't think I would chance it on one of my centrefires but it is fine on the LR.
