Memories of the past season (pics)
I just found some pics (well, actually a lot of them) of the last moose and boar season on my PC and decided to share them with you guys.

this one is a bit blurry because the camera decided to break in this crucial moment

Our typical winter landscape

A traditional onion-pepper-liver-sourcream stew-kind-of-a-thing at the end of the day. Doesn't look much, but tastes real good.

Many thanks for sharing the phots, they sum up a great season - and what a fine job on the high seat.

Tell us more about your hunting in Estonia! Smiler

Fantastic set of pictures.

Hunting is getting as close as you can, shooting is getting as far away as possible.

I hunt in Orissaare, Saaremaa.

What can I say about our hunting? I guess it's somewhat similar to Finland. Of big-game species we hunt roe and red deer, moose, boar, guys on the mainland also hunt wolf, bear and lynx.
Summer is reserved for hunting from the highstands and other forms of individual hunts, while autumn and winter is when big driven hunts take place (mainly for moose and boar, red deer to a lesser degreee). Late winter is mostly reserved for driven boar only, that's when it is usually the most exiting.

Yep, it looks very much like our hunting around here - including the Jahti-Jakt outfits and all Big Grin
With the exception, of course, that we don't have that many wild boar and roe deer, no red deer at all and we get far too few licences for wolf and lynx every year Frowner

Looks like you had a good season and the boars look really nice. The hight seat cabin is also a piece of work. The balcony-sort of thing next to the entrance really makes it easier to use, as you have probably figured it out by experience.

I hunted near Haapsalu last year and shot my first wild boar there. Beautiful country and nice people, as always in Estonia. I can recommend Estonia as a hunting destination with a good outfit to anyone. I have been thinking about going to Saaremaa or Viljandi some day, since my friends have recommended both with their dozens of good hunts there.

Very nice set of pics, Pric65! The landscape indeed looks very familiar in eyes of finnish hunter. And why not, also the guys on the pics Wink

Just like JTH already told, the species between our countries are bit different. Even though i'm happy to point out that roedeers are spreading little by little on southern and western finland.

I've been on estonia couple of times, but never hunted there. However, i'm planning to make a hunting trip on estonia in near future with my friends, and i'm very excited to see some estonian hunting culture Smiler

Yep, basically identical to our driven and high seat hunting in Latvia (animals etc), except everything seems a bit more gentlemanly and advanced in EE compared to LV - like most other things!
I'd post my trophies, except in my case there is a direct relationship between having camera on person and success of hunt. Seriously - if your freezer already full and just want a day in the fresh air, just take a camera along!

That's why I dont have any "in the action" photos. I keep my camera mostly in the car. There just isn't enough time to use it when action starts.
