Arild IversenMy neighbour roe buck
This guy has been around my house the whole winter.
Still in velvet, but looks like a nice little buck.
Untouchable until August 10!

Arild IversenIt varies a bit Dave.
Saw a little fork buck (four pointer) the other day, and he was clean.
This one should start to rub any day now I guess.
I do not know if weather and temperature makes a difference?
We have had an extremely cold and wet spring so far.
Only these last days we´ve got temeratures over 10 degrees centigrade...

That's interesting, over here any buck still in velvet is probably quite young, but this fella looks a bit too stocky to be a yearling.

scubaproWell, this nice buck made his way back home with me yesterday evening... He was suddenly there - just 10m next to me...

Arild IversenThat´s usually the norm here as well Bog.
The old ones rub first and then the young ones.
So I was a little bit surpriset to find this one still in velvet.
Guess there is a bit of "slack" eighter way when thy rub...

Arild IversenWeidmansheil Klaus, a nice fella and good eating

Arild Iversen.

scubaproWaidmannsdank Arild!

Arild IversenThis evening a young six pointer dropped by.
I have seen this one as well several times, he has a sort of two-tone colouring.
His mother has the same colours, she had triplets last year, all of them survied the winter.
A blessing living so close to the woods and be able to follow these deers troughout the year.
Arild Iversen.
Great neighbours to have Arild!

I bet your counting down the days to the 10th August, I know I am!

Trapper DaveHe looks like a nice animal.
Will you take him when the chance comes?

Arild IversenDave, I do not have the hunting rights here around my house, but only a short kilometer away.
This is not the territorial buck, so this one might very well drop over my borderline in August, and then he is mine

Arild Iversen.
Great photos, Arild!

Hope he moves into legal hunting ground.
Here's one I captured on a trail cam recently.
Looks like quite a young buck, and I hope I'll be able to save him a few years

He comes from an area were a real monster have been seen occasionally, so hopefully his genes are ok..

GhubertSoon Arlid, very soon mate!

Arild IversenJonher, Anders, Yes am loking forward to opening day.
There is something special about the roe buck hunting as it sort of mark the start on the new season.
Weather usually nice, still got this magic greenish light at dusk and dawn, the anticipation of what the hunting season will bring...
You guys now what I´m talking about

Amir, I would love to join you for a weekend of roe buck stalking in England, but right now I´m all tied up.
But I will be around, you can count on that mate

Arild Iversen.

Arild IversenBen, I´m just fine thank you.
Beeing retired is a bit different to say at least, but hopefully I get used to it.
It has its advantages though if one can skip the thought that it means one is getting older...
I have promised Amir that I will be over again to see you guys.
I really miss the fellowship, banter and good stories, not to mention a go at a muntie or three with a fox thrown in for good measure

Stay safe mate.
Arild Iversen.

NorwegianwoodsI have not started to look for Roe Deer bucks yet.
I will when the Red Fox hunting starts July 15.
Hopefully I can pattern a few bucks while I shoot some Foxes

Arild IversenBesides that Anders, Amir also claime to know the Norwegian entry for the European Song Contest 1980; Samiid Ædnan

Did he perform it during the AR weekend this spring?
Arild Iversen.
Yes, he did, Arild!
Let's just say he has his own interpretation of it

31 May 2012, 01:57

Excellent, you're in charge of the amphibious kidnapping of Arlid so he makes to our mixed ability gathering next year too.
