That's a very hard working dog!
I have never hunted seals, but it looks similar to our beaver hunting. I do use my dog ( a Pudelpointer) to retrieve beavers. A 20 Kg beaver is a big job for a 35Kg dog, I think a seal would be even more difficult! Congratulations to you and your dog.

Amazing dog, congratulations to the owner!
I never hunted seals, so I have a stupid question:
Does seals fight back, I mean does she can bite the dog?

That's all the yelling was about, I was scared, though the dog would be bitten and even killed. He did go out for a lot of Seals but I never sent him unless I knew they were dead. In this case, the Seal I shot was dead but sank, and the dog just vent for a wrong one.

Solvi,

Great vid, and I have to say that if there was one thing I didn't believe at the AR weekend it wasn't your dog retrieving seals.

My disbelief was when you pulled out the rambo knife and a lump of smoked goose in a Sussex pub... Either way I think the landlady has just about got over it!!

BTW, did you call me last week?

K

That was a very hardworking dog and one that does not give up easily. However, please do not get me wrong and I do not intend any slight, it was a bit difficult for me to watch the seal thrash about.

What a dog!!!!!!
Must be a bit of danger for dog to take a seal in water?
